Summer Break

I couldn't wait for school to be out for the summer this year.  I was ready to give up getting kids ready in the morning and homework at night.  Also, with Jack being three years old now, I knew we were going to be able to do a lot more than we did last summer AND it would be a lot easier on me since he's more independent.  The kids have only a week left before school starts again.  Here's a look at some of what we've been up to during the summer break.
Annie got this lemonade stand for her birthday and has spent several days this summer selling lemonade and otter pops.
One of Annie's first customers was this Murray City police officer.  He bought one cup of lemonade but gave her a dollar and told her to keep the change.  She was thrilled!  About 10 minutes later, another Murray City police officer drove up and asked "Is there where I get the lemonade?"  Another dollar earned!  How sweet was that?!  The first officer had radioed the second to let him know about Annie's lemonade stand.  The first officer stopped by a few other times since that first day.
I really should have gotten his name.

Early morning tennis lessons for Henry and Annie.  They absolutely loved it!
Early morning playing on the playground for Jack while the older kids played tennis.
He absolutely loved it!
Water fights with all the neighbor kids.
"Don't mess with us!"
Fun friend's birthday party with Swoop.....the University of Utah mascot.
Hanging out in Grandma Richards' back yard....
....and helping her decorate her new planter box for her garden.
Coloring ourselves with marker...or at least that was part of Jack's summer.
 Swimming with friends.
Going to Seven Peaks Water Park in Provo.  These are the only two shots I took since I really didn't want to bother carrying around my camera at a water park.
Jack LOVED this slide.
Being silly with friends.
Reuniting with family.  The kids and I with my mom and Grandma Simmons who was visiting from California.
We've had a blast this summer.  I may post more pics later on.  We'll see what else we can fit in during this last week of the summer break.

  1. I have a Grandma Simmons too!!! (although she passed away when I was young) It's so odd how much we have in common. Do you think we're related?

PLEASE tell me you have the cute story documented somewhere of the police officer who bought the best lemonade in town for a dollar... (at least that's how I remember the story). :)
