How Pinterest Lost My Boots!

I think Pinterest is really cool but I don't really use it much.  No time right now in my life.  However, earlier this year I saw an idea posted and thought "What a great idea!"  (Face it...isn't that what everyone says after looking at most every post on Pinterest?)  Anyway....I saw a post about organizing boots by hanging them on hangers instead of being thrown in a pile at the bottom of a closet...my preferred method...and thought I would give it a try.
Not my boots...picture off Pinterest.
I only have two pair of tall boots like these but it was still nice to get them off the closet floor.

Fast forward to a couple days ago when the weather turned cold enough for me to want to wear jeans, a sweater, and a pair of boots....pretty much my favorite outfit.  I got all ready and went to look for my black boots but could not find them anywhere.  I looked on the shoe rack in the garage, on the floor of my closet, behind clothing bins in the closet, and under my bed with no luck.  After much frustration I finally gave up the idea of wearing my black boots.  Last year I realized the heels of my boots were in need of some TLC.  After not being able to find my boots I thought maybe I had just decided to get rid of them.  I just couldn't remember.  Until the next day...and you can guess where this is going...I was looking for something else that would be hanging in my closet and of course, there were my lost boots on their hangers, just where I had put them probably last March.

Next time I can't find what I'm looking for in my house, I guess I'd better check what ideas I've saved on Pinterest to help jog my memory.  ;)

  1. Funny!!! I thought you were going to say that you went and bought new ones since you couldn't find them :)

  2. This is exactly something I would do. That is why there is always a stack of something somewhere because if I organize, it will be lost. You told this so well and I have to chuckle when I think about it.
