June 6th - Happy 12th Birthday Henry!
Once again we start the morning off with a birthday breakfast request....orange rolls, bacon, and chocolate milk. This was a big day for Henry because not only was it his birthday but it was also the last day of school. AND...not only was it the last day of school, it was his LAST day of elementary school. Next year he will start 7th grade in junior high.
To say I was pretty emotional this day is an understatement!
Isn't he so handsome?! :)
He spent the few morning hours at school having field day and finally getting to be on the dunk tank since only 6th graders are allowed to get dunked.
After school, I took him and a few friends to get pizza before
going to his party at The Wairhouse Indoor Trampoline Park.
Henry invited all the 6th graders from his class....Jenna, Dallin, Abbi, Easton, Ian, Miles, Cannon, Ben, Luke, Breianna, Emily, and Jackson....and all but one was able to make it. Henry has been with most of these kids since 1st grade so they have become very close friends. Everyone had a great time even when Jeff got pretty aggressive against them during dodge ball. Haha!
These action shots are all blurry but I think they are fun to post anyway. :)
Time for cupcakes and presents!
The night ended with Henry's dinner choice of BBQ chicken pizza from California Pizza Kitchen.
I've often told Henry that even if he weren't my son, I would still think he was a really awesome kid and would want to be his friend. I love his sense of humor! Henry is such a smart, happy kid and has genuine concern for the wellbeing of those around him. I've seen him stop playing in the middle of a soccer game to make sure a player on the opposing team is ok and help him up. Even though he pesters Annie and Jack like crazy, he has a deep concern for their safety and I know he would do anything to protect them. Henry loves life! I see it every day as he fully loses himself in whatever activity he's involved in. He's got a great smile and a wonderful laugh! Henry loves soccer, tennis in the summer, playing Clash of Clans on his iPod, long boarding, "one upping" his Dad, learning new things, and most of all, reading books. Pretty sure this kid already knows more facts at age 12 than I do! And, even though he's approaching the teenage phase, he's not too cool yet to give his mom and dad hugs, even in front of his friends. We are so proud of the young man Henry has become and can't wait to see what bright future he has ahead of him. We love you buddy!!!

I love so many things about this...a few of my favorites: Jack imitating the flip the kid before him did on the trampoline into the foam bricks, all of Henry's photos (he totally looks like a teenager to me even though he's 12), and of course Jeff's I am throwing this dodgeball like I am a pitcher in the world series when it's the bottom of the ninth ;) AND the cupcakes that match the tablecloth! haha
