I was feeling nostalgic this week and wanted to take my kids to the fair so they might enjoy some of the same things I did. We had a great time and the kids all agreed they want to go again next year. We might even have some photos, veggies, or crafts to enter into the fair. I think it would be so fun to win a blue ribbon!
Couldn't pass up a photo op with a live owl!!
Annie with her steady hand trying not to touch the metal.
I remember doing this when I was a kid.
Look at all those ribbons!!!
These winning chickens belong to my brother-in-law's father...we call him Grandpa Don.
His chicken won best of show!
Of course our visit wouldn't be complete without riding the "Big Yellow Slide".
As we arrived, the kids and I immediately had to have a corn dog, which was delish!!
Jeff, however, waited for just the right item and finally found it...a giant turkey leg!
It was so yummy and fed the whole family.
And...even though I don't have any more photos of the night...we also looked at all the animals, rode a couple other rides, checked out the exhibits (two of our friends won blue ribbons for photography), and just enjoyed the evening.

Congrats to Annie for winning the big yellow slide race and to grandpa don for his beautiful chicken! :)
