Just call me "Soccer Mom"

This year we finally got Annie to try a team sport.  Actually it wasn't Jeff and I that convinced her to play indoor soccer, it was the idea of playing on the same team with Henry and her good friends Abby and Sam.  Jeff and I liked the idea too since not only would the kids get to spend time with their friends but we would also get to visit during games with Abby's and Sam's parents, Danny and Shelly, who just happen to be our longtime friends clear back to junior high.


All four kids did such an awesome job!  Annie's favorite part of soccer was playing goalie and eating the snacks after the game.  Henry loved every minute of every game.  You could tell by the huge smile on his face at all times even when the other team scored on him while he played goalie or tried to kick the ball only to have his shoe come off and fly 20 feet into the air.  Both Abby and Sam were the best little hustlers on the whole team.  It was a great time watching them all play.  They all enjoyed playing with each other...giving each other high fives and encouraging each other.  They had so much fun that I don't think Sam will even hold it against Annie that while she played goalie she went to throw the ball back out on the court and instead threw it right at his head.  Ooops!

I'm not exactly sure what this conversation was all about but it cracks me up that Henry looks so serious and Annie has a giant smile on her face obviously not taking Henry seriously at all!
***Henry saw this picture the day after I posted it and filled me in on the conversation.  He said he was giving Annie some pointers on how to play soccer....pointers that Dad had forgotten to give her!***

Annie especially was elated after the last game when she received her first trophy.  Of course every kid on every team received the same trophy but that didn't matter to her.  This was her first trophy and to her it was like winning a gold medal!
